Inês Lopes is a biomedical engineer and has been a researcher at Fraunhofer AICOS since 2016. She has worked in biosignal processing and machine learning applied to respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, and natural language processing for nutrition recommendations. She has been involved in several European and national-funded projects, including some as project manager. In recent years, she has been focused on the new medical device regulation (MDR) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and its implementation requirements for compliance. Currently, she is researching best practices for Artificial Intelligence (AI) development and deployment to ensure ethical, safe, and compliant AI systems.
