Jorge Pinheiro Santos was born on 22 February 1990 in Lisbon. He earned a Master's degree in Medicine from NOVA Medical School in 2014 and attended a residency in Cardiac Surgery between 2016 and 2022. Since 2022, he has been a Cardiac Surgery Consultant at Hospital de Santa Marta, ULS São José, Lisbon.

He attended the Portugal Clinical Scholar’s Research Training Program, a collaboration between Harvard Medical School and Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, between 2017 and 2019. Since 2019, he enrolled in the 1st PhD in Health Sciences – Specialty Medicine in NOVA Medical School.

He is also an Invited Professor at ESESFM in the Curricular Unit of Investigation at the Management and Innovation in Health Postgraduate Program. His research interests are Value in Health, Health related Quality of Life after Cardiac Surgery and Technology applied to healthcare.
