Having a background in pharmaceutical sciences, Wim joined the telemedicine section of the Belgian National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance in 2021. While the telemedicine section plays a role in the reimbursement of all forms of telemedicine (teleconsultations, telemonitoring, tele-expertise, etc.), Wim mainly works on the mHealth reimbursement framework. In this regard he worked on the new reimbursement procedure introduced in October 2023. Currently he supports the newly-formed multidisciplinary working group mHealth and informs potential applicants on the new procedure and helps them with questions they may have.
